So many choices

The new roommate has not been getting a whole lotta luv since it moved in a week ago.

First the problems with the sound when running Linux Mint. Then I was not very happy with the look’n’feel of MX Linux, but at least that fixed the issue with the sound chip.

Ubuntu came next, but I gave up after a few hours. All the hardware was supported, the desktop felt nice, but even trying to configure the UFW had me checking my local friendly SearXNG.

Then Covid hit me for the second time in about three years and I wasn’t really up trying anything else on the new box. I finished my daily shifts in the homeoffice, played around with some SSH stuff and went to bed rather early.

Well, speaking of SSH: you may remember me mentioning Veronica Explains in the last blog post. And she quite often mentions Fedora in her videos. And other stuff like Newsboat and VimViki. Lots and lots of input.

Since Big C is slowly leaving this husk and I feel new energy flowing in, I guess I will give Fedora a try and see whether Roomie likes it.

Note to self: change the boring host name from BMAX to Roomie.
